                                      Yala National Park

Yala National Park is the second National Park in Sri Lanka and it is the most visited and most tourist attracted National Park in Sri Lanka. It is situated in the southeast region of the country and lies in southern province and Uva province. It is covered approximately 979 square kilometers and is located about 300 kilimeters from Colombo. 






 
Yala is mot famous among people because of its variety of wild animals. Specially it is named for wild Elepahnd, Leopards andd aquatic birds. Yala is consists mainly in five blocks and by today two major blocks are open to the people. The park is situated in the dry semi-arid climatic region and rain is received mainly during the north east monsoon.
